How we research, verify, and update content so families can trust what they read.
Last updated: June 2026
SENDadvisor is a directory and resource hub for families of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across England. Because parents make important decisions based on what they find here — where to go, who to contact, what the law says — we hold ourselves to clear standards of accuracy, transparency, and regular review.
Our guides are written and reviewed by people with lived SEND experience, including SEND parents, carers, and professionals who work with children with disabilities. Every guide has a visible author byline and a last-reviewed date.
Where a guide covers legal rights (EHCPs, education law, benefits), it is cross-checked against the latest official guidance from GOV.UK, the SEND Code of Practice, and independent legal charities such as IPSEA and SOS!SEN before publication.
SENDadvisor is still growing. Some areas have richer coverage than others, and some listings may be missing photos, descriptions, accessibility details, or recent opening information while we complete the first data import and review cycle.
A listing on SENDadvisor is not an endorsement or a guarantee that a place or service will be suitable for every child. Families should always check access needs, opening times, costs, and eligibility directly with the provider before visiting or making decisions.
We do not publish fabricated reviews, ratings, or testimonials. If a family, provider, school, council, or SEND professional spots missing or outdated information, we welcome corrections and will prioritise fixes that affect safety, access, legal rights, or contact routes.
If we discover an error, we correct it within 5 working days where possible. Significant factual corrections to legal or council guidance are noted at the bottom of the affected page with the correction date.
To report an error, email hello@sendadvisor.co.uk.
SENDadvisor does not accept payment for directory placements or guide content. Listings appear because they are relevant to SEND families, not because of commercial relationships. Sponsored content, if ever introduced, will be clearly labelled.
